Displacements lead to death, when there’s nowhere left to rest.

A public art project drawing attention to the dangers of displacement in the DTES

The recent upheavals in the Downtown Eastside by the Vancouver police mark the tenth major displacement attempt in the last ten years, but only one of countless sweeps DTES residents are victims of on an almost daily basis. With a lack of adequate housing still a root cause of the problem, moving people when they've nowhere to go only makes things worse.
'Nowhere Left to Rest' is a series of installations around the city illustrating not just the vulnerabilities and dangers of displacement, but its futility too.
